How does Disney Stack Up in the Cruise Industry?

Disney is making waves in the cruise industry by planning to expand its capacity by 60% by 2030.

Unlike in the theme park industry, where it is the current giant, Disney is the cruise industry’s minnow.

The majority of Disney’s cruises sail in the Caribbean, where the company has invested in two private islands (see purple dots below).  The region is hotly contested, which may be why Disney has invested in a Singapore-based ship, and is further diversifying regions.

However, the Disney premium carries over here.  Prices for its cruises are roughly 3-5x that of its competitors in the Caribbean.
